Ancestral Healing in the Midst of Medical Uncertainty: My Journey Back to Wholeness

I never thought I’d be here again—back in the cycle of endless tests, searching for answers that still seem out of reach. I’ve already faced cancer twice, and now, I find myself once more sitting in cold exam rooms, subjected to CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, and lab work that keep piling up. My body has been exposed to more radiation and contrast dyes than I ever wanted, yet with all these scans and all these practitioners, there’s still no clear answer. Just more tests. More waiting. More uncertainty.

Western medicine, for all its advancements, can sometimes feel like a machine that sees data but not the person. The stress of the unknown, the frustration of feeling unheard, the anxiety that creeps in with every pending result—it’s enough to break the strongest of spirits. And yet, I refuse to be broken.

This is where ancestral healing comes in—not just as a tool, but as a necessity.

Turning to Ancestral Healing for Strength & Restoration

I have always believed that healing is more than just what we do physically. Our bodies are repositories of memory, energy, and lineage, carrying not just our own pain but the echoes of those who came before us. I know that Western medicine can only do so much. But what about the medicine of my ancestors?

In this space of uncertainty, I am grounding myself in the wisdom, rituals, and natural healing methods that have sustained my lineage for generations.

1. Calming My Mind & Spirit Through Connection

The emotional toll of waiting for answers is heavy. The anxiety, the what-ifs, the frustration—I’ve felt all of it. But instead of letting my mind spiral, I am anchoring myself in ancestral connection.

• I light candles and speak the names of my ancestors, calling in their strength.

• I meditate with herbs and oils that have been used for healing in my lineage.

• I listen to spiritual music and drumming, feeling the vibrations settle the unrest within me.

I remind myself that I am not alone in this. My people have faced greater battles, and their resilience runs in my blood.

2. Restoring My Body Through Ancestral Remedies

While modern medicine searches for answers, I am nourishing and protecting my body in the ways my ancestors would have:

• Herbal Healing: I am drinking teas and tonics infused with roots, barks, and herbs that have been used for centuries to purify the blood, strengthen immunity, and calm inflammation.

• Juicing & Detoxing: I know that my body has been overloaded with radiation and chemicals. I’m leaning into natural detoxing—juicing, fasting, and hydrating—to clear out what no longer serves me.

• Energy Healing & Touch Therapy: Reiki, sound baths, and intentional movement are helping me realign my energy, ensuring that the fear and stress don’t manifest as further illness.

3. Trusting My Inner Wisdom Over the System

I will continue the tests, the follow-ups, the protocols—but I refuse to let the Western medical system be the sole authority on my healing. I trust my body. I trust the messages my ancestors send me. I trust that healing is not just about medicine but about balance, restoration, and alignment.

Healing Is a Full-Body Experience

I don’t know what the next tests will show. I don’t know what the final answer will be. But what I do know is that I am already healing—mind, body, and spirit.

I am choosing not to be consumed by fear but to be empowered by ancestral wisdom. To listen to the whispers of those who walked before me. To embrace healing in all its forms. Because my ancestors didn’t just survive—they thrived. And so will I.

If you’re going through your own health journey, I urge you: lean into the wisdom of your lineage. Science is powerful, but so is spirit. The body is intricate, but so is intuition. And sometimes, the most potent medicine is the one that’s been in our bloodline all along.

I am healing. I am whole. And no matter what comes next—I am ready.
